Our school is a part of a European family
On September 12th and 13th our teachers A. Trenčanová, J. Machynová, J. Pekárová hosted Italian, Turkish and Bulgarian partners from the participating organizations. The principal A. Randíková with the deputy I. Polónyová welcomed all of them on the behalf of all the teachers of the school.
A. Trenčanová, J. Machynová and J. Pekárová had been working on the schedule, the programme, the activities and overall administration for a long time in order to prepare the meeting properly and to meet the goals previously set in the project Voice of the Young Age – VoyAge. The main goal of the meeting was accomplished successfully after hard work and precise coordination with all the students involved.
15 students from our school took part in the Kickoff meeting, prepared the activities for the guests and also delicious snacks. They took advantage of the opportunity to speak with foreigners in English language and broaden their horizons due to cooperation with open-minded, friendly and professional partners from associated countries.
One of the students – Dominik from III.B wrote about his experience:
“On September 12th I was pleased to be a part of a meeting in our school with teachers from Bulgaria, Italy and Turkey. Everyone from the students participating in the meeting prepared some part of the program. Some students made up ice-breaking activities, such as Pick a candy, Brutal envelope, or presentations of our school. For example, I prepared a video about our school, where our students demonstrated everyday life there and showed the parts of the building. Also, my classmate, Tamara, prepared a presentation about the programs or events of the school parliament.
I was really flattered to attend this conference, not only because it was quite fun and we had a wonderful time, but also because I had an opportunity to speak with people from other countries in English. I also learned something about their countries, about their traditions, national meals or geography and even had a chance to taste some of their local candies. On top of all this, I practiced and showed off my English skills.
My motivation in being a part of this program is to improve my English communication skills, traveling to our partner countries, but mainly to make this world a better place. I am really happy that Erasmus has started at our school and I can be an active part of it.”
